Natural-ingredient shampoos & conditioners?

I'm wanting to switch to a more natural shampoo/conditioner. I also don't want to spend a lot of money. (Under $10 a bottle preferably.) Has anyone tried ';Burts Bees'; or ';Jason'; products, and what did you think? Other recommendations welcome, too.Natural-ingredient shampoos %26amp; conditioners?

What's good shampoo/conditioner/body wash/lotion w/ no alcohol ingredient?

I've been searching like mad for shampoo/cond./body wash etc., the ones that have fruit ingredients in them %26amp; no alcohol. Which brand is good? As far as body wash or skin products, I've used ones w/ marine algae (by Aquatanica) in it w/c is really good for my skin, but the product has been discontinued. What other brands do you know that have the same marine algae in it or fruit ingredients (without alcohol)??

Alcohol in these products just makes my hair/skin dry that's why I don't like it.What's good shampoo/conditioner/body wash/lotion w/ no alcohol ingredient?
I use olive oil shampoo and conditioner, and it's all organic.

I just don't know if you can fiind it cause i got it at a salon storeWhat's good shampoo/conditioner/body wash/lotion w/ no alcohol ingredient?
tRy it!
Google ';marine algae facial products';

How would I find out which ingredients are bad to have in soaps, shampoos , cosmetics, etc?

Is there some websites that I could look at to list all ingredients to avoid in shampoos, soaps, cosmetics? I'm trying to find natural and organic products, it seems that they make some now that are ';mostly natural'; but still contain some bad/chemical ingredients. Like Organix brand shampoos are better but still has bad stuff in it but it's hyped up to make u think it's all natural, same problem with Aveda . Anyway if you know what brands are completely natural, or you know where I could find out, websites, etc, please tell me. Thank you, I would appreciate any help. How would I find out which ingredients are bad to have in soaps, shampoos , cosmetics, etc?
There is a great book called ';Dying to look young';. I'm sorry I can't remember who wrote it. Makeup wise, I recommend a mineral powder. I sell Avon and I can tell you, the Avon brand of mineral makeup is total B.S. There are still preservatives in a lot of those so you have to really check the ingredients. I use Color Connection by Seven Arrows LLC. Its a Utah company but I think you can order it online. Most brands at herb stores (not just health food stores) are pretty good. How would I find out which ingredients are bad to have in soaps, shampoos , cosmetics, etc?
Hope this helps you鈾?Health food stores are a great place to shop for these items. (Whole Foods, Sprouts,Trader Joes)

  • What's a good natural shampoo that doesn't contain the ingredient ';sodium lauryl/laureth sulfate'; in it?

And where could I get it? What's a good natural shampoo that doesn't contain the ingredient ';sodium lauryl/laureth sulfate'; in it?What's a good natural shampoo that doesn't contain the ingredient ';sodium lauryl/laureth sulfate'; in it?
Yes, I read up about the SL and that crap is in almost everything lol I get my shampoo from the organic market. I get the Organix tea tree oil with mint because that's amazing for your scalp, it helps maintain the moisture in your scalp and keeps your hair really shiny and healthy...and best of all.. it's ORGANIC ;)

So go to your nearest organic shop and pick one, I go to the one in Hoboken, not sure where you live but they will help you find the right one depending on your hair needs. What's a good natural shampoo that doesn't contain the ingredient ';sodium lauryl/laureth sulfate'; in it?
The Body Shop is amazing for naturally inspired delicacies. The good thing is that this company is major and easily (usually) found in any somewhat recognizable mall. The Body Shop produces amazing products that are safe for the environment and fair trade (meaning farmer's don't get scammed.) Chemical products like sodium lauryl/laureth sulfate are completely banned from the stores. After using their shampoos for just one week, my hair is fresh, light and sooooo smooth! It smells fantastic too! Try The Body Shop, they have lots of different hair therapy selections. Enjoy! Hope I was of assistance...
im pretty sure thats the waxy content?

if im right, try organix. i love them alot, although it is $6 a bottle. you can find them at walmart.
I don't know but I wanted to ask why it's better to have a sodium lauryl/laureth sulfate free shampoo?

Maybe I'll want some too lol

Why do they bother listing the ingredients on the back of shampoos, shower gels, perfumes etc?

I can understand listing the ingredients on food products because we all generally know what they are: water, sugar, salt, vegetables, meats etc. We can check ingredients and pick items according to what we want or prefer to avoid. But what is the point of listing ingredients such as C1-2 Succinates/Hydroxyacrylates Copolymer, Sorbitol, Protonal Hydrocytene, Propylene Glycol, PPG-1-PEG-9 Lauryl Glycol Ether, Tetrasodium EDTA etc? Is anyone actually checking these ingredients before they buy a product?

The ten points goes to the first person who correctly identifies the bogus ingredient. Why do they bother listing the ingredients on the back of shampoos, shower gels, perfumes etc?
They put the ingredients on it because the law requires it. And yes there are people who check to see what is in the stuff before they buy it.

As to what all those words on the bottle mean, it would take a rocket scientist or a chemist to understand that.

The bogus ingredient is Protonal Hydrocytene. I'm guessing, but it's as good a guess as any.

Addendum: Excellent, I sometimes read the labels just so I can see the strange words. I like reading new words. Why do they bother listing the ingredients on the back of shampoos, shower gels, perfumes etc?
In a lot of products, water is a major ingredient. The other ingredients either add color or fragrance or is a preservative. The names sound complicated but can refer to things like formaldehyde, or alcohol which keep germ or fungal growth at bay. Shampoos that are specifically for dandruff/psoriasis control have a tar base that smells very strong. You would be surprised to know that some of the ingredients that you have listed are also found in some household cleaners. As consumers, companies assume the general public only listens to commercials as to what the skin/hair product will do. They don't count on you resourcing. Yes, it is true that ingredients must be listed on products by law. This way if you have an allergy to any chemical they cover themselves by stating it was on the product.
Well, as others have already told you,

#1) allergies ~ I personally am allergic to cocoa butter which is used in a lot of lotions, soaps, and tanning products. My husband is fructose intolerant and cannot have anything with ANY kind of sugar in it - real or artificial - he can only use Aspartame

#2) it's the law because of reason #1

took a while, but Protonal hydrocytene - no such thing --
I used to check the labels faithfully back when they still added formaldehyde to shampoos. I didn't want to use a well documented carcinogen. But now that they don't use that any more I pretty much don't check shampoo or shower gel labels. But if another suspect ingredient is mentioned in the news or elsewhere at least with the ingredient labels being mandatory I'll have the option of looking out for that particular substance. That's my take on it anyway.
I personally always read shampoo labels. I won't buy anything with sodium lauryl sulfate or sodium laureth sulfate in it. I was losing my hair and those ingredients were the cause. They're in many popular shampoos. Many people know if they have problems with certain ingredients, and they DO read the labels.
It is the law that all active and inactive ingredients be placed on products. At one time, people were putting all kinds of dangerous chemicals in dyes and shampoos. My grandad almost went blind trying to dye his hair way back in the olden days. It is for our own protection. We can always look up the words to see how that particular ingredient contributes to the product.
At the hospital, they asked my wife to bring in all the cosmetics/soaps she uses to eliminate or confirm whatever chemical or substance she was intolerant to.

Now she knows what to avoid, she can check all labelling on everything.

Some people are allergic to simple herbs that lots of cosmetics contain
Maybe because some people could be allergic to some of the stuff they use, i cant use any shower gels or soaps with any scent to it they will give me a rash and perfumes give me migraines, but i have to admit i never check the ingrediants. I just know what i can and cant use
How about us that don't think they need to read the directions on the bottle of shampoo and conditioner, Last year I bought these bottle of both and I could feel this weirdest something in my hair, But dumb ole me kept right on using this shampoo and conditioner, It had oil beads in it and you were suppose to activate them by using a hair blow dryer, and I was letting my hair air dry
Believe it or not, there might be someone out there that will drink the stuff. I've heard of people that drank after shave lotion, because they thought there was alcohol in. So I suppose they would like to know that. There are people that ';snuff'; spray paint.

How about a good shot of pure lemon extract?
Legally obliged to provide the ingredients for those people who need to know what they are putting on their heads. I don't know what all the ingredients are, but do know that I am allergic to chamomile which is often in lotions or shampoos.
As you listed a bunch of different ingredients you probably understand that different people have different allergies, listing all that goes into a product will decrease the possibility of some one having issues because of a reaction.
well what if someone is ellergyic (or however u wanna spell it) to an ingredient in the shampoo, whatever... and htey put it on, and they break out... and stuff.

so if we stopped naming the ingredients, all the companies would be sued.
Something to do with FDA regulations. I only read the ingredients in comparison to other brands. Since I am not smart at all I guess I can't compete for your 10 points, isn't that a shame?
One reason is that it's the law. I can't stand anything with fragrance in it, so I read alot of labels. I have several types of allergies.
well, incase you have an allergy to any of the ingredients.

You wouldn't want to come out in red blotches or loose you hair would you?
    Bogus ingredient: Sorbitol.

I am amazed that anyone can read the ingredients without a high powered magnifying glass.
Actually the most annoying thing to me is I have to get a magnifying glass to read it!!!
actually it is important some people are allergic to some of these products and could die so check
I have no idea what those ingredients are, but I do know it is the law to post them.
They want to make regular people like us feel stupid.
cuz if they dont then we could sue them and wouldnt that be a shame

Will Lice shampoo get rid of scabies?! It has the same active ingredient?

Scabies drug contain : (A) lindane 1% + usnic acid 1% or (B)permethrin. Drug contain A must apply for 24 hours every 7 days. Two times only. Brush your infection skin with soft brush when you take a bath, then apply the zalf.

Drug contain B, same do, but only for once / single dose.

Take vitamin, scabies only affected people with bad nutrition. Will Lice shampoo get rid of scabies?! It has the same active ingredient?
Yes you have to rub it over your entire body avoiding mucous membranes and the eyes. Put it liberally in the pubic area and leave it on for about 6 min. Then shower it off and I think you have to treat it like that a couple of times. Don't forget to treat the house and especially your bedding. All family members in the house should also be treated. Will Lice shampoo get rid of scabies?! It has the same active ingredient?
I would not count on it--might work though. Although it is contagious it is NOT a emergency. (might feel like one, but it's not)

I would go to regular Dr. during regular hours and get proper diagnoses and the proper prescription cream.

My family had it and the prescription cream worked effectively. You need to treat the whole family or household. Washing bedding is a very good idea, but scabies is ';shared'; by skin to skin contact.

I never heard of taking internal medication for this...I believe that answer was incorrect.

Scabies is a spider-like parasite that lives, burrows, reproduces and dies under your skin. Once you use the cream, the itching may intensify as the dead body parts are what causes the most itching.
See your doctor for a proper diagnosis for scabies, as they are contagious, and is usually treated with prescription cream, lotion or a tablet may also be prescribed.

Lice shampoo may work but it may also cause skin irritation.
I read the answers provided u from folks, about the scabies treatment. I just got diagnosed with scabies today, and did a lot of research on the internet concerning the medication, Elimite. Where lice shampoos are only 1 %. the lotion given for scabies ( permethrin) is 5 % and is therefore the only thing strong enough to kill the scaby mite. I dont believe there is anything you can take internally, to kill scabies. My druggist told me that Elimite is an excellent treatment, and is the no. 1 prescribed medication given from Doctors today for a scaby infestation. Good Luck, Loveyameanit,

nope. go to the ER for meds. you are highly contagious and can spread this to everyone you see. reduce your contact with people.

Is sodium lauroy, an ingredient found in toothpaste and shampoo, harmful? l?

Does sodium lauroyl cause cancer? Is sodium lauroy, an ingredient found in toothpaste and shampoo, harmful? l?
    No. It's a myth.

This is another myth/hoax/urban legend. The American Cancer Society has this to say about 'sodium lauroy' (Sodium Laureth Sulfate):

    ';Shampoo

    Rumor:

    One chain email floating through cyberspace says a common ingredient in many health and beauty aids is known to cause cancer. The warning reads: 鈥淐heck the ingredients listed on your shampoo bottle, and see if they have this substance by the name of Sodium Laureth Sulfate, or simply SLS. This substance is found in most shampoos, and the manufacturers use it because it produces a lot of foam and it is cheap. BUT the fact is that SLS is used to scrub garage floors, and it is very strong. It is also proven that it can cause cancer in the long run. I went home and checked my shampoo (Vidal Sasoon), it doesn't contain it; however, others such as Vo5, Palmolive, Paul Mitchell, the new Hemp shampoo, etc. contains this substance.';

    Fact:

    Sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) and its chemical cousin sodium laureth sulfate (SLES) are known irritants, not known carcinogens. SLS and SLES are powerful surfactants (wetting agents) and detergents. They have industrial uses because they are detergents that exert emulsifying action, thereby removing oil and soil. There is no way of knowing where this Internet information comes from, but there are a variety of Web sites offering health and beauty products that are SLS-free. According to David Emery and his Urban Legends website, ';All these Web sites are maintained by 'independent distributors' for various multi-level marketing companies hawking natural personal care products. As a matter of fact, the majority of URLs returned in a standard Web search on the keywords 'sodium laureth sulfate' all point to versions of the same propaganda.';

http://www.cancer.org/docroot/MED/conten鈥?/a>Is sodium lauroy, an ingredient found in toothpaste and shampoo, harmful? l?
Sodium laureate is a surfactant. It is the sodium salt of lauric acid, a short chain fatty acid found in coconut oil. It is harmless.
    Sodium laurate?

    Sodium lauryl sulfate?

These are simple detergents. They can be irritants (like all detergents), dry skin, and so on. There is no link with cancer.

Long --- BUT well worth the reading.

    Make the connection!

I am a nurse with over 25 years experience in this area and I have seen a lot of people with various illnesses caused from chemicals and fragranced products as well as VOC鈥檚 in their homes, schools and workplace. This problem is growing as more and more chemicals are being introduced into the market and used on a daily basis.

We are now seeing more and more children and adults with Chronic Headaches, Migraines, Asthma, Allergies, Hives, Eczema, sinus / respiratory illnesses and Hormone related disorders. I can not emphasize how important it is to educate yourself about MCS (do a websearch for MCS) and the harm you may be doing to your health by using chemicals and fragranced products.

If you or a loved one suffers from Asthma, Allergies, Autism, chronic headaches, reproductive problems, Migraines, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Lupus or Fibromyalgia, you need to read further and learn about the signs and symptoms of MCS - Multiple Chemical Sensitivity.

Most doctors will not inform you about this because patients as a whole like to walk out of a doctors office with a prescription for some magical medicine and they do not want to be told that their expensive new perfume or newly installed carpet may be the culprit. So, the doctor will give you medications and many of these meds either do not work or cause other health problems.

Chemicals and fragranced products are often the root of all evil when it comes to your health. Many of the below mentioned items are common triggers to sinus, asthma, itching, headaches, Migraines and allergy problems amongst other health issues. Get rid of them and your lungs will thank you and you will breathe easier.

And, it is not only personal body or cleaning products causing havoc on your health鈥?many people become ill after wearing brand new clothing, dry-cleaned clothes, installing new carpet, painting, buying a new mattress or after home renovations because of the Flame Retardants, Benzenes, Formaldehydes, etc. used in these products. So the answer is NO, you are not imagining that 2 weeks after your home, office or classroom got renovated you started to become ill, get dizzy or have headaches. This is happening more and more these days and adults as well as children are becoming sicker and sicker.

Unfortunately, too many doctors compound the problem by prescribing chemical medications to try to alleviate the symptoms of an already chemical overloaded body and they rarely tell the patient to eliminate the chemical offenders. How many times have I seen people in the grocery store with Bounce, Glade Plug-Ins and Febreeze in their shopping cart along with a bottle of Benadryl , Migraine Excedrin and a box of Allergy Tablets ? Why don鈥檛 they make the connection?

Here is a Brain Spect Scan Before and after a whiff of perfume: http://www.ourlittleplace.com/spect.html

Keep in mind that your skin is the largest organ of your body and what you put on your skin gets absorbed into your body. Then ... well... then it has to be filtered by your organs which are already working real hard.

BIG NO-NO鈥檚 ---- I would SERIOUSLY recommend removing all of the below from your living / working area.

No Bounce or dryer sheets - these are VERY toxic

No Febreeze - your pets will even thank you for this

No Glade Plug-ins - VERY toxic

    No scented candles

No Fragranced Products on Body, Hair or Clothing

    No Smoke

No Newspapers and Magazines - The ink is a huge irritant.

    No Dander

    No Sprays

    No Sharpies (marker pens)

New Cartpeting, mattresses, paint, contain toxins that can trigger severe respiratory disorders as well as headaches and Asthma flare-ups.

And remember, it is NOT the smell it is the Chemicals that make up the smell. So, even if something is ';Fragrance Free'; these products often mask the smell with another chemical ! There are plenty of safe healthy products out there that work well and do not have added chemical fragrances. Look on MCS sites if you need help finding them.

More and more workplaces %26amp; schools are creating 鈥淔ragrance Free Zones鈥濃€?why do you think this is? Make the connection, your lungs , immune system and your general health will thank you.Allergic to deodorant and some shampoos, what ingredient is it likely to be please?
I am allergic to TIDEAllergic to deodorant and some shampoos, what ingredient is it likely to be please?
go to a dermatologist or an allergist and ask for an allergy test. maybe they will narrow it down for you.

my guess is fragrance or lanolin, which is common in deodorant, shampoos, conditioners, and lotions
There are so many possible allergens in deodorants and shampoos that it's not funny.

Look mostly for scents, dyes, and preservatives.

    Good luck!
Please tell us what the reaction is and it might narrow down the possibilities: sneezing, blisters, rash swelling, discoloration, difficulty breathing etc...

I am allergic to glycerin which is in many skin and beauty products. I get a nice crop of tiny itchy blisters after the 2nd or 3rd use of the product. Also in toothpaste which caused the skin on my lips to peel all the time. Pretty!
It could be a billion diff things...I am allergic to formaldehyde which is in lotions, shampoo, fingernail polish, deodorant, makeup, etc...

I only found out by getting a skin test done at the allergist. (I am also allergic to rubber -- as in rubber bands!! weird I know)

A skin test would be best.

remember allergies can continually get worse until one day you could go into shock

What types of natural ingredients or special shampoos dissolve cat feces?

Ok, I know that sounds really gross but my fat cat tends to get her poop stuck between the folds of her behind and it starts getting stuck in her hair. As a result, I have to bath her once every 3 to 4 weeks. I used normal cat shampoo (tried like 4 different kinds already) but it doesn't really get the poop out until I run a bath full of water and make her sit in it for a while until the poop softens up and I try to get it out.

So is there something safe I can put in that area to help dissolve the poop faster and better? Or is there a shampoo made especially for that? What types of natural ingredients or special shampoos dissolve cat feces?
Hey, gross happens. That's what cats are all about and what we're here to help with!

To start at the other end (pun intended), you should first address the issue of her loose stool. Cat poop should be firm enough that it doesn't leave skid marks behind. I won't go on and on about it, but briefly, it sounds as if something in your cat's diet disagrees with her. Most often this is grain which is present in many commercial cat foods, especially those from the grocery store. The solution for this is to feed grainless foods. Canned foods are much healthier than dry. If you do this, you may solve the problem.

Of course, it's also a good idea to have a fecal analysis done to rule out parasites or conditions that may also cause this.

If you decide to change foods, be sure to do so slowly as some cats don't take well to sudden changes in diet.

There are supplements you can add to the food which may help with this as well. But generally you should strive to find a food that will fix the problem by itself.

Next up - kitty brazilians. You may find cleanup easier if you keep her rear end shaved. Your vet may be able to do it or you can look for a groomer. In between times you might be able to keep the area clean just trimming it with a scissors. Shaving cats isn't something you should attempt yourself generally, as cat skin is very loose and you could end up with a bald and bloody cat.

You might want to invest in some wipes and use those daily or as needed. That should cut back on how much scrubbing you need to do. For those and for shampoos, because you'll be doing this frequently it would be best to get something that's very non-toxic and very green. Here are some suggestions:

And finally, if you'd like to learn about a weight loss plan for cats that really works and would quite possibly solve all the problems, see this: http://runeamok.multiply.com/journal/ite鈥?/a>What types of natural ingredients or special shampoos dissolve cat feces?
Soaking the butt in hot water (not too hot for the cat) and then using a brush on it should break it up. I'd add some plain soap to the brush to help break up the cohesian, but then rinse the soap off very thoroughly.

You can email a persian breeder (find one online) and ask this too, in case there's some trick that works better.
you are gross how can you let her have poop stuck in there for 3 to 4 weeks!! you need to clean it more often That's the hair around her butt. That's like letting a baby on a dirty diaper for a week!

I ve heard that if Sodium Laureth Sulfate is an ingredient in any shampoo,it can cause Cancer. Is it true?

No, it is not true; it is an urban legend. SLS is contained not only in shampoo, but in mouthwash, toothpaste, and other cleaners we can use on a daily basis. The FDA has stated that SLS is non-carcinogenic, and the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) on file with Occupational Safety Health Administration (OSHA) shows that some forms of SLS can cause skin irritation, nausea or diarrhea, but not cancer.I ve heard that if Sodium Laureth Sulfate is an ingredient in any shampoo,it can cause Cancer. Is it true?

This is an example of how information found on the Internet must be checked before using.

A dire health warning circulating by email since 1998 claims that sodium laureth sulfate, a synthetic chemical found in brand-name shampoos and other personal care products, causes cancer.

As is typical of such warnings, the message is unsigned and cites no references to support its claims.

As also commonly happens with chain letters, this one has picked up false ';signatures'; after the fact. Such is usually the result of someone with an authoritative-sounding title forwarding the message with their .sig file attached, which is left intact by later forwarders and eventually becomes a permanent part of the text.

As near as I can determine, the name ';Michelle Hailey'; first began appearing on a version of this message in September 1998, approximately two months after the original (unsigned) version was first sighted. The ';signed'; version quickly surpassed the original in popularity, but Hailey denied authoring the email in an Oct. 20, 1998 article in the Daily Tennessean.

';This is not a chain letter,'; the message declares, but in fact it is one. As you shall see, its purpose is not to inform, but to frighten:

Subject: FW: SHAMPOO ALERT!!! MUST READ!!!

    Importance: High

Check the ingredients listed on your shampoo bottle, and see if they have this substance by the name of Sodium Laureth Sulfate or simply SLS.

This substance is found in most shampoo, the manufactures use it because it produces a lot of foam and it is cheap. BUT the fact is that SLS is used to scrub garage floors, and it is very strong.

It is also proven that it can cause cancer in the long run, and this is no joke. Well, I went home and check my shampoo (Vidal Sasoon), it hasn't got it, but others such as Vo5, Palmolive etc..they've got this substance, so I've called up to one of the company (u must think I had nothing better to do, no, I am just concerned about our health) well, I told them their product contains a substance that will cause people to have cancer, and u know what they said, they said ';Yeah.we knew about it but there is nothing we can do about it coz we need that substance to produce foam, oh, by the way the Colgate toothpaste also contains the same substance to produce the bubbles';. Oh my God, I've been using the Colgate since when I was born, what the world is that, are we going to die very soon. They said they are going to send me some info.

Research have shown that in the 1980s, the chance of getting cancer is 1 out of 8000 and now in the 1990s, the chances of getting cancer is 1 out of 3 which is very serious. So I hope that you will take this seriousness and pass on this to all the people you know, and hopefully, we can stop ';giving'; ourselves the cancer virus.

This is serious, after you have read this, pass it on to as many people as possible, this is not a chain letter, but it concerns our health.

http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/household/鈥?/a>What do you know about Laureth sulfate?, is a common ingredient in shampoos.?
The only thing I know about it, is that a certain number of people are allergic to it. You can buy shampoos without Laureth sulfate in them... just check the more organic types in your local supermarket, they should have at least one type without it. I use one from time to time. As for it being dangerous, I'm pretty sure if you arent injesting it, you should be fine.

What ingredients I should look for in dog shampoos?

All natural, no additives or perfumes. Try an oatmeal shampoo

http://www.entirelypets.com/What ingredients I should look for in dog shampoos?
I agree with angelhimm,,,oatmeal is good and soothes the skin and makes the coat shiney and healthy. That's what I useWhat ingredients I should look for in dog shampoos?
dont go to grocery store or Wal mart for your pet products the ones they sell are crap!!

look for one that has OATMEAL in it if your dog has itch skin or allergies.

Pick one that is CONCENTRATED so you dilute it and it will last a long time
Just for ordinary shampoo.. I like natural ingredients as BEST I can.. such as: aloe vera, jojoba oil, and rosemart. One brand that I can think of that is all natural is: Bark n Bath.. Petsmart handles some of the other naturals. You can go to: www.earthbath.com

I use Johnsons baby shampoo. Nice scent, very gentle, and if you get a little in the eyes it doesn't hurt.
Ginseng Shampoo really helps the quality of the hair. If you want you dogs hair to grow try that. I have a shitzu and the hair is really long and needs to be trimmed every month.

Is it safe to use shampoos & conditioners with formaldehyde (formalin) as one of the ingredients?

Formaldehyde is a preservative and since your hair is dead what do you need preservatives for.....nothing! Some people are allergic to formaldehyde. I would find another shampoo and conditioner without this ingredient; it's useless and potentially harmful. Is it safe to use shampoos %26amp; conditioners with formaldehyde (formalin) as one of the ingredients?
I would not as Formalin is a key ingredient in embalming fluid. Is it safe to use shampoos %26amp; conditioners with formaldehyde (formalin) as one of the ingredients?
Of course it is! Think about it, formaldehyde is an ingredient used in embalming fluid and your hair is dead. Combine the two and the logic is simple. It makes perfect sense.
Formalin is used to prepare and preserve cadavers, it smells horrid and leaches water out of tissue... but it might get your hair really clean. I would avoid it just because anything that is capable of causing cellular death (you should see a cadaver) can't be good for your health...

Is the ingredient glycerine in john frieda's straight ahead shampoo from vegetable source or animal source

    vegetable.
