What ingredients should i look for or avoid in a good shampoo?

Avoid citrus and plant extracts, Sodium Sulfates, Ammonium Xylenesulfonate, and anything that starts with TEA-. These will all dry out your hair and scalp.What ingredients should i look for or avoid in a good shampoo?
A lot of salon shampoos have extracts nowadays too, and they don't work for me. I really suggest you use Dove Beautifully Clean or Suave Daily Clarifying. They're cheap enough and very gentle to the hair. They're the only ones I can use that won't itch my scalp. Report Abuse

Avoid: DEA ! Test rats given DEA shampoo end up with cancer.
salt (any ingrediant that starts with sodium). it will strip your color if your hair is dyed.
